NETWORKING TIPS FOR MEMBERS

HOW YOU CAN MAKE OUR EVENTS SUCCESSFUL

In previous events, we have been swarmed with emails and calls. To make our events a success, we seek your help in the following. Please:

1. Read the email carefully before asking us any question.
2. Refrain from calling/messaging our event host prior to the event.
3. Ask your friend or venue staff if you need directions.
4. Print out the event details (e.g. venue) before coming for the event. Suggestion: Why not SMS the event details and host’s mobile number to yourself at http://home.singtel.com/consumer/msg_center/internet_sms.asp

6. Make the effort to know all our members. You will then have company for the next event.

HOW TO NETWORK SUCCESSFULLY

You can still network successfully even if you are coming alone. Here’s how?

1. Dress appropriately. First impression is always important.
2. Meet the event host(s). He/she will introduce you to other members.
3. Once in the circle, show a deep interest in fellow members – their profession, company, products, services, colleagues, classmates, personal interests, etc. Certainly there will be some common ground for you to begin a vibrant conversation and a lasting relationship.
4. Get to know our member’s friends as well. This way your contacts will multiply instantly. Yes, multiply!
5. After the event, make the effort to meet up for lunch (if you are working in the same area) or pursue similar interests together. Strong networks don’t happen overnight. Soon, you will get invited to their private events (e.g. birthday/Christmas parties) too.
6. Don’t forget to bring your name card, writing materials, a big smile and a vibrant personality!
